It is no secret that journaling is, alongside meditation, one of the pillars of self-care. This article in The New York Times has a great overview on the befits of journaling.
But the truth? I don’t like journaling.
As a someone with a graduate degree in writing, I get self-conscious that I’m not creating beautiful, profound sentences that will someday turn into a book. And the blank journal page feels like competition for time I already am not spending drafting a piece for publication.
